Yesterday 4th June 2018, the Pan-Isoko non-partisan group, Isoko Monitoring Group (IMG) was at the National Assembly to submit it’s memorandum in the ongoing petroleum industry bill on host and impacted communities development at the Senate’s public hearing. The group was represented by her Legal Adviser Barr. Tony Ejumejowo and Dr. Michael Oke.
The seven page document submitted by the Isoko Monitoring Group (IMG) seeks to address grey areas where Isoko nation is being shortchanged by International Oil Companies (IOCs) and indigenous oil companies operating in isoko territory as well as government and her collaborators.
We strongly believe that with the input of IMG in the host and impacted communities development bill at the Senate public hearing, Isoko will have a fair and balanced stake when the bill is finally passed into law.
We commend all the members of the group, particularly Oke Michael (Ph.D) and Barr Tony Ejumejowo who made sure that the document saw the light. We also commend every of our patriots out there who have continued to believe in the fight to emancipate the Isoko nation from every form of marginalization .
Dr. Omamoke Eribo,
