Isoko Monitoring Group (IMG), the non-partisan pan Isoko group of young professionals, has issued a statement thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for relieving Brig. Gen Boroh of his appointment as Coordinator of the presidential Amnesty Program.
The group in a statement signed by its Secretary Omamoke Eribo(Ph.D) stated that although the sack came a little too late, it was something that brought great joy and jubilation to the people of Isoko nation.
The group recalled with great pain how Gen. Boroh vehemently refused to allow the Isoko people take part in the non-violent phase of the program and how on several occasions the Isoko people had made attempts to meet with Gen. Boroh but were rebuffed.
They stated that Gen. Boroh was not broad minded enough to handle the portfolio as he carried on as if the Niger Delta is Ijaw and Ijaw is Niger Delta and other ethnic groups do not exist.
IMG also want to use this medium to congratulate Prof. Charles Dokubo who has taken over the mantle of leadership and call on him to ensure that he without further delay, includes Isoko youths in the non-violent phase of the presidential amnesty program or else Isoko old women will pray for him like they prayed for Gen. Boroh.
The group also called on the Federal Government to investigate the allegations of corruption leveled against the immediate past coordinator of the Amnesty program.
